Seminář je organizován ve spolupráci s University of Oulu ve Finsku, odbornými lektorkami jsou Susan McAnsh a Eva Braidwood. Cílem semináře je poskytnout studentům doktorských studijních programů příležitost zdokonalit se v psaní v anglickém jazyce pro akademické účely, tj. za účelem publikování a komunikace ve světě vědy a techniky.

Seminar Academic Writing for PhD Students

Date: 14 and 15 November, 2012, each day from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. (with 30-min. coffee break)

Venue: Conference room – R-ZR, Rectorate, 2nd floor

The seminar is organised in co-operation with the University of Oulu, Finland and will be given by Susan McAnsh and Eva Braidwood.  It is designed as a compact course that deals with writing key components of a research article: abstracts, titles, introductions and conclusions. By the end of the course, participants will be able to (i) write sections of a research article that follow the genre-specific conventions of the target field and (ii) make stylistic choices appropriate for a research article of the target field.
